About the role: 

As a Business Analyst - TME, based in our Barcelona Office, you will form part of a dynamic team of professionals acting as a key liaison between Front Office (Underwriting) and Back Office functions (IT, Operations and Compliance).  

  

This role combines operational system expertise with strong business analysis and process improvement capabilities. You will be responsible for analysing, validating, and enhancing information systems and business processes to ensure operational efficiency, data quality, and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives 

  

Reporting directly to the Head of Underwriting Support for Japanese Business, France Marine & Specialty, you will play a key role in supporting the business, driving system enhancements, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement mainly across business.  

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

Operational & Business Support 

 

  • Support the Head of Underwriting Support in operational planning and execution. 

  • Collaborate with underwriting stakeholders and operational heads to support business objectives and the Target Operating Model. 

  • Develop a strong understanding of the different Lines of Business, particularly Property, Casualty and Marine. 

  • Anticipate operational risks, identify bottlenecks, and proactively propose improvement solutions. 

  • Assess and communicate the impact of business and system changes. 

  • Participate in working groups focused on current and future process improvements. 

  • Support transversal teams (e.g., Catastrophe Exposure, Reinsurance) by providing accurate and reliable data. 

 

Systems & Change Management (PAS & Agile Governance) 

 

  • Act as a subject matter expert of the Policy Administration System (PAS) across the different European entities. 

  • Serve as a key point of reference for PAS-related queries from Underwriting, IT, Operations, and Compliance. 

  • Manage and prioritize Genius tickets for inclusion in waves/sprints. 

  • Participate in the drafting of User Stories and functional requirements. 

  • Coordinate and follow up on testing (SIT/UAT), deployment, and post-production monitoring. 

  • Resolve system bugs and ensure corrective actions are implemented. 

  • Communicate testing and deployment results to relevant stakeholders. 

  • Participate in the Genius User Group (GUG) and follow up on related reports. 

  • Support the implementation of new tools and system enhancements. 

 

Reporting & Data Governance 

  • Update existing reports and design new reports according to business needs. 

  • Develop activity management and performance monitoring tools. 

  • Ensure that Genius/SBS data is correctly transferred and reflected in reporting platforms (DHW, Snowflake). 

  • Perform data reconciliation to guarantee data accuracy and consistency. 

  • Promote data quality and continuous improvement in reporting processes. 

 

Training, Documentation & Communication 

 

  • Develop and maintain training materials and system documentation. 

  • Deliver initial and ongoing training on data systems and process updates. 

  • Facilitate workshops (e.g., Genius, Pega). 

  • Ensure fluid and efficient communication between Business Analysts and system users across entities. 

  • Communicate system changes and improvements clearly to stakeholders. 

 

 

Skills And Competencies Required:  

  • Bachelor’s degree. 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst 

  • Proven experience in business requirements gathering, documentation, and process analysis. 

  • Strong experience in system testing (SIT and UAT), bug tracking, and wave/sprint planning. 

  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Azure DevOps, Jira). 

  • Solid knowledge of reporting and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI). 

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. 

  • Fluent in French and in English  

 

Skills And Competencies Preferred:  

  • Knowledge of Snowflake  

  • Familiarity with process mapping tools (Visio, Miro) and systems such as Pega, SBS Eclipse, Genius or similar PAS is an asset.   

  • Experience in Insurance sector
