We are looking for a Manager, DevOps to join our Innovative Hosting / Development Operations team in Barcelona, Spain. This is an exciting opportunity to lead DevOps practices at the intersection of infrastructure, hardware, and application platforms, supporting large‑scale, mission‑critical products used globally. The role focuses on enabling scalable, secure, high‑performance, and highly available systems that underpin Clarivate’s core platforms.

The Innovative Hosting team is globally distributed, working across time zones to support always‑on services, and collaborates closely with R&D, Infrastructure Engineering, and Product teams across multiple regions. As Manager, DevOps, you will lead a team responsible for operating and evolving complex application ecosystems that require deep Linux and Windows expertise, strong automation, and a consistent focus on performance and reliability. You will provide technical and people leadership, set operational standards, and drive continuous improvement across cloud‑native and hybrid environments, working closely with senior engineering and platform leadership.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience

  • At least 7 years of professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability roles, including responsibility for production systems in large‑scale environments

  • At least 5 years of hands‑on experience with enterprise‑grade hardware in data‑center environments, including hardware troubleshooting and support of hybrid infrastructures

  • Proven experience with virtualization, containerization, and production monitoring, including tools such as Nagios, Datadog, and Pingdom

  • Experience managing or leading DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering teams, with accountability for delivery, incident handling, and operational reliability across mission‑critical, always‑on environments

  • Experience operating or overseeing complex application ecosystems across public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), including environments requiring deep Linux and Windows expertise, core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/REST, SSL), network storage technologies (iSCSI, NFS), and relational databases such as PostgreSQL

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Lead and oversee a DevOps / hosting team responsible for operating multiple mission‑critical applications running in Linux and Windows hybrid cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security

  • Own operational accountability for hosted platforms, acting as the primary escalation point for complex incidents, customer‑impacting issues, and cross‑team dependencies

  • Ensure the effective management of infrastructure and platform services, including virtual machines, storage, backups, recovery, monitoring, and capacity planning

  • Partner closely with R&D, Infrastructure Engineering, Support, and Product teams on application architecture, performance optimization, security, deployments, upgrades, and migrations

  • Drive the adoption and governance of automation and standardization, identifying opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency across the application ecosystem

  • Set and track operational objectives and metrics, support root‑cause analysis and post‑incident reviews, and contribute to longer‑term platform and hosting initiatives aligned with business needs
