Job Description

Our client is expanding their Physical Design organization and is looking for a Senior Physical Implementation Engineer, Top Level to support advanced SoC implementation at top level.

In this role, you will contribute to the physical implementation process of complex designs, from floorplanning and implementation through tape out support. You will work closely with design, timing, verification and physical design teams to ensure that the top level implementation meets power, performance, area and schedule requirements.

Location: Barcelona, Spain - Hybrid

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Physical Implementation Engineer, Top Level, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Support top level physical implementation of complex SoC designs
• Contribute to floorplanning, placement, routing and closure activities
• Work with timing teams on constraints and timing closure
• Collaborate with RTL, verification, STA and physical design teams
• Support power, performance and area optimization
• Identify and resolve implementation issues across blocks and top level designs
• Support tape out readiness and design quality checks
• Contribute to methodology improvements and flow automation

Requirements:

• Senior level experience in physical implementation
• Strong background in SoC implementation flows
• Experience with top level implementation
• Strong knowledge of floorplanning, placement, routing and timing closure
• Experience with advanced semiconductor nodes is highly relevant
• Experience with EDA flows from Synopsys, Cadence or Siemens is preferred
• Strong scripting skills, Tcl, Python or Shell
• Ability to work with design, STA and verification teams
• English level C1
• Bachelor, Master or PhD in Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field

Preferred / Valued knowledge:
Experience working with RISC V architecture is highly valued, especially within processor, SoC, RTL, verification, firmware, software, PCIe, DDR, PCS, DFT, Physical Design or hardware environments.
