Product Data Analyst – Job Description

SCRM – LIDL Digital Hub


About the role


We are looking for a Product Data Analyst who shares our passion for data, digital products and continuous
improvement.


You will join an agile team working on different digital products, mainly related to Lidl Plus app. This role is not limited to a single product; instead, you will collaborate across multiple initiatives, contributing to the definition, analysis and evolution of several digital solutions.


This is a hands-on role that combines data analysis, event tracking, experimentation and ETL development. You will work closely with product managers, developers and other stakeholders to turn data into actionable insights and to build solid data foundations from scratch when needed.


Our data ecosystem is based on a Data Lake, which we exploit mainly through Databricks and PySpark.

In this Role, you’ll get to📜


  • Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations. 
  • Design, build and maintain ETL processes from scratch when required.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency and reliability across the data ecosystem.
  • Promote a data-driven culture and support decision-making through data.
  • Act as a data referent within an agile squad, supporting multiple digital products.
  • Work with product and tech teams to translate business needs into data solutions.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis using large datasets to generate actionable insights.
  • Define and implement product tracking and event schemas to measure product performance.
  • Design, implement and own the full lifecycle of A/B testing and experimentation, from hypothesis definition
    to results analysis.


Required Skills 🧐


  • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, agile environment.
  • Previous experience with Firebase as a tracking tool.
  • Solid experience with Databricks and PySpark (essential).
  • Experience in A/B testing and experimentation methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of data structures and data manipulation.
  • Experience in A/B testing and experimentation methodologies.
  • Good understanding of relational databases and how they work.
  • Familiarity with Databricks concepts: clusters, jobs, notebooks, pipelines.
  • Experience designing and working with event tracking and event testing.


Extra Points


  • Experience working in Azure Cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
  • Experience with NoSQL systems (MongoDB, CosmosDB, etc.).
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and BigQuery.

  • Databricks + PySpark as main data platform. This year, we will be migrating to Reporting: Currently using Databricks built-in reporting tools. In the process of migrating from Power BI to MicroStrategy.
