Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of design engineers ranging from entry-level to senior experts. Foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous learning and technical excellence.
Strategic Project Execution: Guide execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, technology integration, and field issue resolution with a primary focus on safety, quality, and reliability.
Product Safety and EHS: Lead the design team in identifying and mitigating risks for safety-critical components, ensuring all designs meet tolerable risk levels. Drive resolution of SAFER cases by working cross-functionally to ensure completion of actions items.
Systems Thinking & Integration: Maintain a "Systems Thinking" mindset to help the team integrate components into the overall turbine design. Assess tradeoffs and understand the implications of component changes on the wider machine.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs and processes comply with relevant design practices, industry regulations, and standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory landscape affecting wind turbine systems.
Product Strategy: Serve as a prime contributor to the component team strategy, Multigeneration Product Plan (MGPP), and Multigeneration Technology Plan (MGTP).
Tool & Process Ownership: Drive continuous improvement of design practices and engineering tools. Establish and maintain standardized analysis and calculation methodologies to ensure a unified and rigorous engineering approach across all projects.
Risk Management: Act as the technical authority for risk identification and mitigation, institutionalizing rigorous DFMEA practices to ensure that all potential failure modes are proactively identified, addressed, and validated against the highest quality and reliability standards.
Prototyping & Validation: Lead the conceptualization, prototyping, and physical testing of mechanical systems. Own the resolution of technical issues or defects identified during the validation and testing phases.
Accountability: Take full ownership of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) of mechanical products.
Innovation: Efficiently develop simple yet innovative ideas in a fast-paced environment to maintain a competitive edge.
Proactiveness & Energy: Demonstrate a contagious, positive energy that motivates a team of diverse expertise levels.
Effective Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical problems in clear, factual, and simple terms at every level of the organization.
