VAT Accountant, Cornella

And at the European Shared Services Center based in Cornellà de Llobregat, with more than 300 employees, we support the group's various subsidiaries of all Europe and other regions. We have built an outstanding multicultural environment composed by employees of around 30 different nationalities.

We are looking for a VAT Accountant, based in Barcelona (Cornella).

You would be part of a multilingual European Finance Team and you would be engaged in the processes related with VAT for different EMEA countries, the preparation of the VAT returns and other declarations mandatory in the countries in your scope of responsibility.

As a VAT Accountant, you will:

• Prepare, review the data, submit VAT returns, and request the related payments.

• Prepare monthly the reconciliation between the data in the VAT return and the Intrastat, for those countries applicable under responsibility.

• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations within its responsibility on a regular basis in line with company policy and deadlines.

• Be responsible for documenting on a regular basis in line with company policy and legal deadlines all the tasks, deadlines, issues, etc in the different tools established by the company for monitoring the accuracy and timely preparation of the work.

• Properly record, monitor and follow-up on accomplishments, news, requirements and issues related with the VAT tasks for the countries under scope.

• Prepare and document responses to tax office requirements and or VAT audits.

As the VAT Accountant, you already are and/or have:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance (or similar qualifications).

• Working experience in an international environment.

• Used to work with tight deadlines having strong organizational skills.

• Specific experience in the VAT area of expertise.

• SAP knowledge in the FI module.  Competence in SD and or MM modules will be a plus

• Microsoft 365: High technical competence in Excel.

• Proficient English. Other languages will be a plus.

• Ability to work under pressure (deadlines and compliance).
